Fake Health Insurance Marketplace Websites

Be Wary of Official Looking Enrollment Websites

To Verify a legitimate website, go to www.Healthcare.gov where all valid enrollment websites for each State are listed.

Medicare Scams

If you currently have Medicare Coverage, you don’t need to do anything to comply with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)

The government will never contact you by phone or email for personal information

Fake Navigators

No one from the government will ask you for personal information, including health conditions or bank account information.

If you don’t know the person, don’t give out any information

If you are not sure, take the person’s name, phone number, the name of the company and then either go to the Healthcare.gov website or call their customer service representative at 1-800-318-2596

If the information is unclear or doesn’t make sense, don’t provide any personal information

Always keep the name of the person, the name of the company, their phone number, address, email and website

If you do get assistance

Do Not Provide Bank Information or Credit Card Information

You do not have to pay to apply for a Health Insurance Marketplace plan or to receive assistance from a Navigator

Healthcare.gov at 1-800-318-2596
