Brown and Blue Eye Experiment This assignment required us to watch a video. The video was about a woman who does an experiment with college students. She has been doing experiments like this for 30-40 years. The reason she does these experiments is to make a point that we should not be discriminating against black people. Her experiment includes some students with blue eyes and some students with brown. The brown eyed students were supposed to act more privileged than the blue eyed students. The blue eyed students were forced to sit in the middle of the classroom surrounded by brown eyed students. The teacher would be harsher to the blue eyed students than the brown eyed. Many of the students were clearly upset and one girl ended up walking out. After we watched the video we had a discussion. We discussed if there was racism in America (clearly there is). We also discussed if we could make a change. Overall the discussion jumped from place to place and there were many different theories and opinions throughout the classroom. I think that the video the lady made got the point across to her students but also to the people in my classroom. Racism is wrong and we should never look at someone different just because of their color.
