How to use the LibraryThing Catalog

~ For students, teachers & families ~

What is the LibraryThing Catalog?

This link takes you to the BTS Library account in a social cataloging website called LibraryThing.

You can view the books owned by BTS from any computer or mobile device.

You can search the BTS Library books by title, author, topic, or tags.

You can browse the book covers.

You can look at the books in specific collections created by teachers.

Important! The first time you land on the page, it gives you the option of looking at the screen in the “Suggested Style.” Use the suggested style, as it has been created specially for BTS.

Call Number:This is the location of

the book on the shelves

Tags: These give you an idea of what the book is

about

More information…

“Work Page” (open book icon)

Shows you information about the book, in general. It includes reviews of the book by other members of the website.

“Detail Page” (page icon)

Shows you information about the book that BTS Library has.

“Add” (plus sign icon)

You can add the book to your own LibraryThing account, if you have one.

“Members” and “Reviews”

Tells you how many people in LibraryThing has the book and how many people reviewed the book.

To the right of the book, you can also click on

these icons to see reviews, publication

date, and much more…

Click on a tag to see more books with the same topic
