Appropriate interrogation of illustration and text

Throughout my front cover I feel that I have used appropriate interrogation, and I think that I have presented my text and pictures in a well organised way and they represent each other well. The main band text that is in the bottom middle of my front cover represents the subject in the main picture. As they are both main priority within the front cover so they are represented well. On the left side of my front cover I have used the text to represent the picture well as the text is underneath it and it is clear that they are related. The 'Pandora's Box' text also represents the album cover underneath it as well as the main picture. I feel that it represents the picture as they are for the same thing.

Awareness of need for variety in fonts

I am aware that there is a need for a variety of different types of font. I have tried to use a variety of fonts within my front cover, however I didn’t want to use too many as I thought that by using too many it could make my front cover scattered and unprofessional. I have used a total of five different text throughout the making of my front cover. And all of which have meanings as to why I have used them. My first font is of my magazine title, this font is called bleeding cowboys, I found this font on YouTube and I thought that it looked gothic and it was perfect for what I was going for. The size of my font for my magazine title is appropriate as it spreads across the page which is of normal convention.

The font that I have used the most throughout the making of my front cover, is Old English text MT this makes the theme more consistent and also, for nearly all of the main articles I have used the colour white. I feel that the colour white stands out on my background as it is dark, however I used the purple colour for one of my articles as I wanted to keep the purple colour scheme throughout, and if I had used the colour white with all of my articles then the purple colour scheme wouldn’t of been so consistent.

Awareness of need for variety in fonts

It is clear to see that I used the font style, Old English text MT a variety of times as I wanted all my main articles on my front cover to look similar, and I if I changed the font style for every article the variety of text would be too much,

I used the colour red for the arrow to go along with the red text that I have in the bottom middle of my front cover. I used the colour red as I feel that if I had used purple, then the ‘purple’ colour scheme I have tried to create would be too much, so by using the red it has evened it out a little.

I also chose to do the plus signs a different colour because I have seen this technique used in other magazines and I felt that it was effective.

The font I originally used for the text within this bar was Old English Text MT however feedback about this part of my front cover showed that the text was not clear enough for that part of the front cover, I then changed it to a more simple text that feedback showed me was more readable.

Accurate use of language

To ensure that the use of language throughout my front cover is appropriate, I considered the research and planning part when I talked about appropriate and inappropriate questions, this helped me decide what to sort of language to use on my front cover. Another thing I used that helped me was spell check, spell check helped a lot and ensured that my work was minimal in mistakes. Another thing I did to ensure that the language I used was appropriate and made sense was I asked for constructive feedback on a regular basis to ensure I was going on the right track, and to see if other people were clear on the content of my front cover.
