• Format shift, edit, make compilations

• Upload to the intranet – portal, s:drive


Commercial DVDsYou CAN• play using your laptop – we have external drives• stream and play in one or multiple classes @ the

same time. How?through DVC

• lend to studentsYou CAN’T • format shift edit/copy/burn or upload to anywhere• AT ALL. EVER. Unless it is non longer commercially available


What about music? If you haven’t paid for it - it’s probably not legal(exceptions exist if creative commons)

You CAN • Copy music for educational purposes – if purchased

from a legitimate source• Format shift & stream• Use music purchased from iTunes or other (LEGAL)

If you are capturing a school event & plan to sell DVD copies for profit – DON’T. If it includes copyright material e.g.music you can sell on a cost-recovery basis only.


and another thing…If you are charging an entry fee & $$ is exchanged it becomes a commercial transaction and NOT for educational purposes. Licences & Permissions required.
