EPUB (short for electronic publication) is a free and open e-book standard by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF).
Files have the extension .epub.
Which Devices are ePub Compatible?
EPUB reading software is available for all modern smartphones and computers.
Most dedicated e-book readers support the EPUB format, although the Amazon Kindle line of devices is a notable exception.
Non-DRM epub files can be converted to be read on Kindle using ‘Send-to-Kindle’ service.
