Free eBooks & eAudiobooks are just a click away!
Start on NKO
On CAC enabled computer go to: www.nko.navy.mil Log in with your CAC & PIN. Username & password login to NKO was disable by Cyber Warfare in 2013. The Navy General Library Program is currently working on a new library website to restore access to non-CAC holding customers.
You’re on NKO…Where’s the Library?
Everyone’s NKO Homepage looks a little different depending on your Rate, Command, or Navy Region. The tabs at the top are ALWAYS the same. The eLibrary resources can be found on the Reference Tab.
Library Resources
There are dozens of eLibrary Resources! We arrange them by subject, audience, and publication format on the left menu. For Audio & Ebooks we’ll select – E-Library – Audio & Ebooks
E-Library Audio & Ebooks
We have several Audio & Ebook products to choose from – OverDrive is our largest general interest collection. Click the “download” icon located within the “Overdrive –Audiobooks, Ebooks & More” Gear.
Welcome to OverDrive!
When you click the OverDrive link on NKO. The Navy’s OverDrive site will open in a new window. NKO gives OverDrive the secret handshake that says you’re an approved Navy Library customer, and that you’re eligible to create a borrower’s account. Click “Account” to create your borrower’s account.
You can now create your borrower’s account. Use any email address and password you’d like. We recommend using a personal email address as NMCI emails may change with new ship or command assignments. Passwords must be over 6 characters long. NOTE: Password reset links can ONLY be sent to the email address used to login.

You can begin browsing with the menu button at the top, search for specific titles with the box at the top right and get started checking out Audio & Ebooks.
