Educo’s Patron says:
“When we are still we can see our problems more objectively and find the strength to overcome them and tap into the well of joy and hope that lives within each one of us.
Educo Africa is leading people on a journey of
self-discovery to become the wonderful people they
were created to be.
God bless you.”Desmond M Tutu
Educo uses wilderness as teacher and classroom
Action Learning is fundamental to our leadership training
Learning by experience – a lesson in self-reliance
We create a sense of belonging and community -
through group problem solving,
trust building, sharing, and commitment
Support in stepping outside of comfort zones
Learning to find self while caring for others
Off the edge - abseiling and rock climbing as a metaphor for life
Navigating the unknown draws forth leadership …
… builds trust and mutual support
... develops deeper connectedness
… and restores the joy of being alive!
Our programmes include aspects of
Healing…
…Empowerment
…Training and Skills Development.

Plotting a new course in life
Reaching new heights
Building strength in diversity
Educo Programmes call forth a deepening of personal mastery, authentic leadership, and responsible contributive citizenship, as well as deep care for community and our greater environment
Why Wilderness?Getting in touch with nature allows us to get in touch with our own true nature, brings us back to basics, and strips us of our veneer of civilization. Wilderness tests our capacity to improvise and adapt, to recognise our reflection in the mirror of our environment and others around us, to see the things we often deny or ignore, be that our beauty, strength, power, or our shadows.
The magic of wilderness offers the space, silence, stillness, beauty and inspiring landscapes that beckon us to listen to the voices of our heart, mind and soul, opening new ways of being, uncovering more of who we are, and linking us more vividly with each other, with eternal cycles and the natural elements.
