Societal problem being addressed : Undiagnosed Diabetic patient don't know he/she fall in diabetic. Every Diabetic patient should know him/her sugar level, it means all Diabetic must diagnosed.Objectives of my citizen engagement initiative : Without citizen engagement it's not possible to know him/her sugar level, what are problems come in future if she/he live without sugar level control. What are the facility provide by Bangladesh Institute of Research & Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) with collaboration of the Government of Bangladesh for Diabetic patients. Enhance accountability and promote Inclusion the institution to ensure improved patients services.To reinforce governance, to promote accountability and inclusive policy- implementation by institute authorities to ensure that persons with diabetic in Bangladesh benefited. Initiative lead to positive change : Increase people awareness, what is diabetic, what are problems with diabetic, what are What are the facility provide by BIRDEM, BIRDEM authority more aware and accountable to people.



Spearheading this initiative : Me and Bangladesh Institute of Research & Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) spearheading this initiative. BIRDEM'S main function are build awareness of diabetic in people and to handle diabetic patient.Target audience : 1) All Diabetic patient in Bangladesh. 2) Bangladesh Institute of Research & Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) 3) Ministry of Health 4) Ministry of Social Welfare 5) Community people 6) National media 9) Donner organizations. Participants recruited by awareness buildup, Describe or published advantage of the program. Describe what are the negative impact if program may not implemented.Other organizations/bodies : Partner with Government Of Bangladesh, Donner Organization.



Mobile phone, Internet, Television & Radio, Local & National news paper, face book, call centers etc. In Bangladesh has 80 million Internet enable mobile phone and powerful media (newspaper, telephone)Awareness , sensitization, mobilization with community, family members, service providers.Formation and strengthen of people’s groups/collectives, Accessible house in rural area in Bangladesh built by UP Court yard meeting of collective, Information Education Material, Poster on Budget information.Bangladesh govt.'s commitment is make a digital Bangladesh.



Challenge:

Functionaries, government officials are not readily available

Political biasness of govt. functionaries

To get citizen agreed to participate in the process, to contribute time.

Limited resource of BIRDEM

Lack of commitment of Government functionaries to be in compliance with policies and laws

Opportunities :

The Perspective Plan of Bangladesh 2021 reiterates that accelerating economic growth without paying attention to the concepts of ‘inclusiveness’ and ‘sustainability’ holds no meaning for a country.

Bangladesh Government try to ‘Stronger Governance’, which aims to Enhance Accountability and Promote Inclusion.

Existing Horizontal learning mechanism which, led by Government division will bring all peers, citizen in same platform to review , assess themselves , learn each other’s good practices resulting in improve service delivery.



Register Diabetic Patient, New Registration, New diagnosed, Regular fallow up patient, IGT patient to DM patient, Increased number of persons with diabitec getting benefits from BIRDEM, Regular Open Budget Meetings, Ward Savas held
