CAIS/WASC ACTION PLAN | GOAL 5 To enhance strategies to ensure the environmental sustainability of the school, the environmental citizenship of our students, and the environmental literacy of our community.  Rationale: To refine strategies to minimize adverse environmental impacts of the school’s programs and operations; to support students’ competencies as environmental stewards; to inform all stakeholders’ learning about environmental sustainabilityImpact on Student Growth: To model strategies for environmental sustainability for the students; to involve students in expanded environmental studies in authentic problem-solving contexts Persons Responsible: Headmaster, Chief Operating and Financial Officer, Director of Facilities, Division Leadership, Director of Experiential Education Programs, Faculty, Students, Board of Trustees, Parents AssociationSteps/Timeline: Develop strategies in conjunction with implementation of Master Plan; revise Long Term Capital Repairs and Maintenance Forecast accordingly; seek and identify opportunities for children’s learning and stewardship inside and outside the classroom; involve students in authentic analysis, design, and problem-solving in conjunction with active phases of facilities design, construction, maintenance, and improvement; determine subsequent steps and timeline Resources: Budgetary implications to be determined annually; fundraising implications to be determined in conjunction with implementation of Master PlanReporting Progress: Tracking environmental impact of school programs and operations annually; articulating annual objectives for facilities sustainability and students’ environmental literacy and citizenship; reporting progress to Administration and Board of Trustees
