Artist’s Background

• Volchkova Yulia Anatolievna (Julia)

• Born in Nizhnevartovsk, Siberia (Russia) in 1987

• In 2004, Julia won the competition of the faculty

of art and design

• She was invited for a project at Georgetown,

Malaysia to paint the walls of a hostel in the

historical part of the city protected by UNESCO.

• She had spent 5 days to draw the Old Man Hitting

Nail mural art, 5 hours each day.

Artist’s Background

• Kenji Chai & Cloak team

• Kenji is from Sandakan, Sarawak and is up until

recently, a full-time graphic designer.

• Cloak is a recent graduate whose exposure to

graffiti began as early as secondary school, and

his craft and guile have earned him much respect

from the Malaysian graffiti community.

• Their works are often playful and gently

humorous, and often somewhat sardonic and

rebellious.

• In this mural art, they worked together for

#tanahairku Street Art project by PETRONAS.

Artist’s Background

• Pakey

• Born in Malaysia.

• He discovered his talent in doing

portrait using spray cans when he

was 16 years old.

• Pakey also prides himself on his

natural sense of playing with

colours and high attention to

details.

• He specializes in painting

photorealistic graffiti,

portraiture, nature and other

realistic elements.

• Pakey is involved in Wild Sticking

Syndicate (WSS), a group of himself

and teammate Reeze who have been

doing graffiti art since 2006 and has

also been a part of the Medium Touch

crew.
