Copy these –ER and –IR verbs

in your Steno pad.

leer= to read

ver= to see

correr= to run

aprender=to learn

comprender= to understand

escribir= to write

vivir= to live

abrir= to open

We know that these are –ER verbs

because the infinitive ends with -ER

comer > leer > beber > aprender

To conjugate these verbs, you must first remove

the -ER ending.

The part that is left is called the STEM.

comer com- > comprender comprend-

beber beb- > leer le-

So, how do we use the verb

in a sentence?

You must find the STEM and then add the

appropriate endings to match each subject!

Copy these endings for –ER verbs.

VER (to see) is irregular in the

YO form.

• keep the E in the yo form

• No accent mark in the vosotros form.
