Future job growth in computer programming is exponential.

We must ensure that all of our students can get these high-paying jobs of the future!

We must ensure that all of our students believe that computer science is a field for them!

There’s a huge opportunity in the field of computer science

But, the playing field in the tech field is unfortunately NOT EQUAL.

Silicon Valley’s diversity problem is huge.

The state of California is roughly 60% people of color.

Yet Google (headquartered in California) is only 2% Black & 3% Hispanic!

The United States is roughly 50% female.

Yet only 20% of software engineers are female!*Census Bureau + Google

Yes, this is how we should all feel.

There is a system of privilege that benefits white people and especially white men in the tech sector.

What can we do as educators?

We must ensure that all students feel confident to pursue careers in the tech sector.

You don’t need to know how to code to encourage your students to code!

There are tons of great initiatives to teach computer programming online!
