Green Screen used in TV Dramas

Green screen has been used here, for a scene in greys anatomy, the series about E.R surgeons'. Green screen has been used here, to set the scene of a cruise ship crash. They have used green screen for this scene to save money and time, as creating an actual crash would cause, health and safety violations and would cost millions. Which is why Green Screens are a very popular choice with most filming companies today.

Shot one This is where the cruise ship is. The ship is engulfed in flames and is crashed upon the peer, which is also part of the green screen

Shot Two

A green Screen has been used here for a scene in the hit series 24. The green screen has been used to set the scene. They have been placed to look as if there in arctic conditions. They have used a green screen instead of flying them over to the exact location because that takes more time and also would cost thousands in transferring equipment staff etc. So green screen is the most efficient choice.

In the actually series they will appear to be surrounded by snow in the arctic conditions, this helps create a realistic surrounding

Shot Three

Green screen has been used here in this particular scene, I’m unaware of the name of this episode, but the green screen has been used for little effect to make it a believable street. The green screen is a representing a double row of houses upon a hilly road. This is not a massive special effect but, it’s used to help take the pressure of finding the perfect location for filming.

This is where the green screen has been placed to show the hilly road linking to the actual road on the film set.

Shot Four

Green screen has been used here in this particular scene, I’m unaware of the name of this episode, but the green screen has been used here to create a believe snow shower. They have created some fake snow for the foreground (street) but where the green screen has been placed will be showing more street and will show snow falling from the sky.

Here is where the street will go in further to show more houses, road and little things like lampposts, letter boxes etc they have also made it look like snow is falling from the sky, which makes the scene a whole lot more realistic.
