Reducing FrictionThe ‘Flat Ball Bearings’ machine reduces friction by using a ball and spindle system, allowing the
top platform to turn easily.
Using Friction Leonardo Da Vinci’s ingenious ‘Vertical Drill’ used the power of one or two men to turn a
screw. This kind of power uses friction to create a funnel shaped space between the
Earth’s surface and the screw head.
Reducing GravityA machine that reduces gravity is the ‘Pulleys’. It
reduces this force by spreading out the weight of the heavy objects between the evenly spaced pulleys
allowing heavy or large objects to be lifted with ease.
Using Gravity‘Automatic Hooks
with Counter Weight’ for raising and lowering heavy loads uses gravity. This force is put
into play when the rope slackens off of the hook when the
machine is at ground level.
I liked…I found the most interesting machine was the ‘Hang Glider’ which was one of Leonardo Da Vinci’s flying
machines. This machine reduces gravity by using the wings to glide with the wind which also brings in the
push force.
