In persuasive essays we try to convince others with our points of view, to agree with us on our facts, see our values in a positive light, embrace our argument and conclusion, and adopt our way of thinking. This is a tough job and not everyone has the skill to accomplish all of that stated above. However, there are some things that contribute greatly in making the reader turn to our point of view. Reliability of the references. The references collected must be authentic and collected from dependable sources. Journals, interviews, newspapers are good sources. Peer reviewed sources are even better because they are not the results of a single persons work but more; and thus, there are less chances of giving false information for personal gain. Use of proper vocabulary. It must be kept under consideration that a vocabulary should be used which is in accordance with the topic under discussion. A formal topic should not be discussed in first or second person narrative. Nor should a rhetorical tone be used in the essay paper. However, there are some topics which require to be written in an informal tone. Thus, an apt tone and proper language should be used while keeping the topic in consideration. The structure of the paper is also very important as it is that which gives the reader an insight on the ability of the writer. If the structure is not proper then the reader will not see the writer as an authentic source of information. Can he really trust a writer who cannot deliver his views to the reader? Now there are some elements of writing an argumentative essay: - Begin with the facts. Find all the facts that will help in convincing your readers about your point of view. - Explain relevant terms that you will be using in your paper. Your paper must not include terms or ideas that are not explained in the paper itself. - Prioritizing the facts. Organize your ideas according to the importance of different points. Make a proper structure of your paper. - Persuading your audience. Your audience must know that your resources are authentic and reliable. It is the paper itself that will give this view to the readers. - Having confidence. You must have confidence in your ability to create a good paper. You must also have a determination to create it and the will to accomplish your aim.
