We all know the importance of communication, communicating well can make your life
and work easier. We emphasis well communication, however you should also be honest,
if you fake your feelings, then you will only get fake fake ones in return. So here I have to
say, any communication skill can’t take the place of being honest. It doesn’t matter if you
express yourself well, as long as you are honest, it will be a good communication.
Speak with conscience
Don’t force other to do what you don’t want to do. Islamic prophets once told his
apprentices always keep three things in mind when they say anything, namely to say
anything with three criteria. The first one is to ask yourself these: Am I telling the truth?
The second one: Do I have to say it? The third one: Do I say it honestly? These three
questions don’t need to be explained I think, they are the way, skill of talking, and attitude
towards talking. When do something wrong, or you come across setbacks, do you wish
to get encouraging and comforting words from friends or to be bantered by them? You
shall say this is a crap as nobody wants to be bantered. However, when you banter
someone else, have you ever thought about his feeling? In fact, few of us care notice
this, let’s take a look at what people say:
You are totally an idiot, how can you get such few points? Are you out of your mind?
Being so foolish?
What are you doing? Putting on such a cold face as if someone owns you money!
Are you blind? You can step on my foot even the road is such wide!
Almost everyone of us is harmed by such careless words, and say them to some others.
Thus we know there is no time to delay for speaking with conscience. Friendship comes
from being broad-minded, knowing others deeply, and a great love beyond yourself.
It starts with basic humanity
As it is known, human get interested in himself first, not any other thing. In another word,
one man puts much more concentration on himself than all other things. So the best topic
to talk with others is themselves. Avoid using words like “me”, “myself”, use “you”, “your”.
Learn to lead others to talk about themselves.
Compliment with skills
Compliments are always important in communication. Learn to agree and compliment.
When agree with someone, make sure to compliment him aloud, don’t just nod or stare at
him. When you disagree, don’t tell others unless you have to. When you make mistakes,
be brave to admit. Avoid arguments. Always remember that people do care about you
attitude towards their appearance and apparels.
Learn to listen
Many people think it is important to speak in communication, but listening is just as
important as speaking. When you listen to others, pay attention to them. Don’t interrupt
others, ask questions properly at right time.
