REMAINPOSITIVE

It’s important that you remain upbeat for thestudents who you’ll be teaching. Show them apositive attitude and act excited about whatyou’re talking about, but you can alsoacknowledge that you know it’s a tough time ofyear to focus on learning. Give them positivereinforcement when they do something well andtry to make them feel good about their work.

Give Rewards By occasionally rewarding your students, you’ll motivate them to continue workingand doing a good job in their studies.Maybe offer candy or a small prize forreaching certain goals. You can also givethem a movie day or a specific amount oftime where they can talk and hang outinstead of focusing on an actual lesson.Rewarding students gives them a much-needed break.

LetThemDecide

When students have the opportunity to be hands-on with their own learning, they’ll be more

invested in the subject. You can give students alist of topics that need to be covered during the

next few weeks and let them choose in whichorder they want to learn about them. Provide

opportunities for them to be involved in their ownlearning – they’ll be thankful for it and more

motivated.

Givestudents somethingdifferent and they’ l l feel asthough it ’s an entirely newexperience, not the sameclass they’ve been in forthe last few months.Providing students withvariation wil l prevent themfrom feel ing bored andhelps them give theirattention to your teaching.
