• I began my task by researching other Digipak and cd cover of the Alt-rock genre. So that I could get a greater understanding of the genre and hopefully generate some ideas. I looked online in shops and at my own collection. The next slide will show a few examples a few examples

• These three example show the different repeated features of a Alt-rock band’s Digipak. Firstly there are usually strong colours contrasted by black ( left and centre image) also there is also a unusually design (left image) that takes something simple a turns it on its head (centre image) drawings are a common feature ( right image). And nor if a drawing then a original image made to look like its drawn ( left image).

• I therefore decided to use these ideas in my own Digipak so that it would be easily recognised as a Alt-rock bands Digipak and there by grabbing my target audience. Also I took influence from the band themselves and there own artwork. As seen in the next slide.

Beginning creating the Digipak

• With this in mind began my Digipak. I took more influence from my own drawings on my old school book and decided to use that as the base for my Digipak as it would give me a perfect base for my designs. I took and old school book and began drawing. I looked at a lot of graffiti for inspiration. As seen in next slide.

• After adding my drawing I scanned in the book and then began the Photoshop process. Firstly use the burn tool to remove the shine that the scanning process had created. I then added the name of the band and ablum in the sticker in which my name used to be. I did this simply be copying one are of the sticker and pasting it over the name. by using the blur tool after the edges became almost invisible.

• I then added text in an old school font which I got from www.dafont.com and added logos.

• After that I had to design the inside. As the design is a book it was only logical that inside be pages. I took some old pieces of paper and made the older by using tea and screwed them up in my bag for a few days. Then drew on them taking influence from my own drawings. I wanted the pages to be visually interesting and very busy.

• After crating the inside I then added different brushes which I got from www.psbrushes.net to add the finishing touches.
