Why learn odds?

At Hollywood we use the TurfSport system which calculates the odds for us.

Why learn odds?

• Most clerks are very familiar with the TurfSport programme.

• The software allows us to lay bets from our customers quickly and efficiently.

• It gives us the odds and as we become more experienced on the system, we tend to forget the concepts which underlie the betting process, particularly odds.

• Below we can see Race 4 at Clairwood and Macchatio with a current price of 5.5

• Below we can see Race 4 at Clairwood and Macchiato with a current price of 5.5

• For example, a customer may want a fixed win bet on Macchiato with a current price of 5.5 and he/she asks you: “How much will I win if I bet R1 000 on Macchiato?”
