InformationWhat was most interesting/needed/used bypatrons? Maps of floors/building Specific userguide Specific URL LocationWhich locations were used? Consider why. The lobby ones were used because they are where everybody could seethem. The same code on the bulletin board in the busy hallway was not used. Which one-- information, location, or both--mayhave contributed to the success or failure of a 2Dcode? 13. 2D Code ManagementSystems (free) Bitly( long urls, tracksthem, and has real time stats. Best Practices 2Dcodes should lead to mobile-friendlycontent. 2D codes should direct people toworthwhile content. 2D code information should lead directlyto the page of information. To have toclick, click, click on a mobile phone cantake too long and may drive peopleaway. 17. Best Practices, cont. 2Dcodes should lead people to an experience forthemnot for the code creator. 2D codes should be placed and sized wherescanning them is easily accomplished. Placementof codes on posts, billboards (driving?), or in busyhallways makes scanning difficult. Additionally, ifcodes are too small to read from a distance or sobig phones cant read them at all, people willbecome frustrated with the process. Most phonescan read up to Version 4 easily and quickly (GoogleChart Infographics). 18. Best Practices, cont. 2D codes should be tracked to determine ifplacement and content were successful. 2D codes should be tested to make sure: They work. The content is mobile-friendly. It works on multiple phone types.Based on Lisa Barones article Even Bill Cosby Cant Make BadQR Codes Funny (online). Many sources in addition to this onesupport each of these practices. 19.
