What’s The Big Idea?

1. Specifically, how can we help our students transition from MS to HS and HS to College more effectively?

2. What could/should peer mentors do for mentees? How?

3. What skills and traits do we want our peer mentors to have or develop?

4. How can we use gain greater access to students and/or increase support from administration?

Benefits for TRIO StudentsStructured mentoring program connects TRiO students to one another and to upper classmen. They break out of old cliques and build positive relationships.

Academic improvement comes from direction intervention by mentors helping TRiO students to prepare for their future and a stronger school culture.

Reduced negative behavior from positive modeling and social emotional support provided by trained mentors.
