Graphic feature: is the tag that usually is displayed at the corner of the magazine and it usually uses different types of typography in comparison to the other text presented on the front cover.

Selling line: Gives a brief insight of the magazine and often displayed at the top of the magazine.

Coverlines: They are usually placed beside the main image and it persuades the audience to go to certain sections within the music magazine.

Main image: The main image usually consists of one person. The shot is usually a medium close-up shot or a ¾ length shot. However, some music magazines use a band to be displayed on the front cover.

Masthead: Usually displayed above or on top of the main image’s head. The masthead will help the audience recognise the magazine better.

Logo: Logo of the magazine is displayed near the title as it reminds the audience what magazine they are reading.

Title: The use of a title is to tell the reader what page they are on.

Main image: Biggest picture that is displayed on the contents page which would attract the reader to the featured article.

Page number and description: There is a label on the picture which makes it easier for the audience to navigate throughout the music magazine.

Subtitle: Makes it easier for the audience to look at particular sections within the contents page.

Date: Some of the magazine also display the date at the corner of the magazine so that the audience know when this magazine is release

Main image: This image is used to attract the audience’s attention. It often takes up one of the pages of the double page spread.

Pull quote: This is usually displayed at the top of the page or on the page with the text. This would attract the audience’s attention as the font size; font itself differs from the rest of the text.

Article: Structured in a way where most magazines do so which is in columns.

Page number: Allows the audience to navigate to certain pages within the music magazine.
