Coverlines: They are usually placed beside the main image and it persuades the audience to go to certain sections within the music magazine. Main image: The main image usually consists of one person. The shot is usually a medium close-up shot or a ¾ length shot. However, some music magazines use a band to be displayed on the front cover. Masthead: Usually displayed above or on top of the main image’s head. The masthead will help the audience recognise the magazine better.

Logo: Logo of the magazine is displayed near the title as it reminds the audience what magazine they are reading.

Title: The use of a title is to tell the reader what page they are on.

Main image: Biggest picture that is displayed on the contents page which would attract the reader to the featured article.

Page number and description: There is a label on the picture which makes it easier for the audience to navigate throughout the music magazine.

Subtitle: Makes it easier for the audience to look at particular sections within the contents page.

Date: Some of the magazine also display the date at the corner of the magazine so that the audience know when this magazine is release

Main image: This image is used to attract the audience’s attention. It often takes up one of the pages of the double page spread.

Pull quote: This is usually displayed at the top of the page or on the page with the text. This would attract the audience’s attention as the font size; font itself differs from the rest of the text.

Article: Structured in a way where most magazines do so which is in columns.

Page number: Allows the audience to navigate to certain pages within the music magazine.
