I think it’s time to call your landlordJust tell him that you’re moving outYeah, you’re tired of his stupid rules anyway

I think it’s time to pack some boxesWe’ll load them up into my carWe’ll leave your mattress by the road and drive away

To my place (my place)Your place (your place)Our little hideawayOur little sweet escapeMy place (my place)Your place (your place)Our little hideaway fromWhat in the world do we call this world anyway

I think it’s time to / to call it all offWe know it wasn’t working outYeah, I’m tired of your shitty car anywayI think it’s time, see, we’re oh so differentYou’re always blabbing about tomorrowBut I want the moment so let’s go our separate ways

To my place (my place)Your place (your place)Our little hideawaysOur little sweet escapesMy place (my place)Your place (your place)Our little hideaways fromWhat in the world do we call this world anyway

Move in (get out)You’ll think I’m crazy butMove in (get out)I think we need our own spaceMove in (get out)You’ll think I’m crazy butI think we need our own place

TREATMENTIt isn’t a romantic story through the lyrics but there is a clear relationship between the 2 ‘characters’.I want to create a stop motion music video, with the chorus being a live performance piece. The video will narrate the song lyrics and help the song come to life. The reason I wanted to do stop motion is because the speed of the song just has the feel of loads of images, like the jitter of an old film. The style I want to create is the idea of ‘moving house’ I want to create through stop motion boxes being packed and moving by them selves out of the house and into a car. The idea of having a sign saying a completely unrealistic rule on it to reference the lyrics of the song. This brings comedy and the reference

to the theorist Goodwin.

I want the shots to have an orangey/autumn feel to them, including the stop motion filming parts. The chorus of the song will be a live performance, this will show the two singers, one male and one female, singer in a open field with an acoustic guitar this is capturing the iconography of the genre of song which is indie folk, and were the singers are from which is Nashville. The stop motion will show boxes being filled with everyday objects and then loads come together to then leave the house like you would see when someone moves out but it will be with stop motion so it will look like everything is moving by itself. The amount of frames per second will be about 10 frames per second, depending on how small or large the movements between each frame are, this can determine how fast or slow I want the animation to be moving because I want it to fit with the speed of the song.

The idea creates a very calm atmosphere and an entertaining thing to watch and enjoy. The idea of a stop motion everyone thinks that it will all be at the same angle and distance away from the objects, but I want to break from the norm and experiment with the stop motion and using different angle and moving the camera as well as moving the objects. The chorus is very important to create the iconography of the genre of music, I could challenge the iconography of folk music and not have the stereotypical scene of the musicians playing an acoustic guitar and have the stop motion carry through to the chorus but the idea of having the live performance break up the stop motion to help the music video to have flow, where as I think the stop motion could become repetitive and get boring for the audience to watch.

TECHNICAL AND PRODUCTION DETAILSAll the stop motion images will be taken singularly on a 600d canon camera, also the filming for the chorus will be filmed on a 600d.The audio is pre-recorded so no recording equipment will be needed whilst filming. All footage and music track will be loaded into premier pro and edited together also on this program.
