Music magazines

Genre: I have found 2 front cover images that I would like to reinforce on my music magazine. These images are from the magazine ‘Q’ , which is a lifestyle music magazine.

Target audience:

My chosen target audience is like ‘Q’. I would like to attract a mainly female audience over the age of 25 who wouldn’t download the music by using a female model. However by using a variety of artists names in the buttons I may attract a mixed range of readers.

Hair and makeup:

Alike the images I have found I would like to use big but loose curled hair to show class but also to give a vibrant connotation. In regards to makeup, I would like to use a dramatic smoky effect to the eyes. Furthermore the lips will be a red colour to follow the house style of the magazine.

Set design: to put more emphasis on the face of the model I will use a green screen or white background and avoid distraction or a busy look. Facial expression:

In my image I will direct the model into a natural facial expression however with the lips slightly apart with their hand in slight contact with their lower or upper face.

Buttons and subtitles:

I will use numerical buttons to go down the left hand side of my magazine front cover. For example:

20 year anniversary FREE Q’s top tracks 181 gigs and festivals in 2015
