What video am I going to make?

O The song Purpose is about love. It is about the person he ‘loves’ giving him a reason for something he does. It is captivating to the audience with the emotion he uses in his video.

O The music video I am going to make it a narrative and a performance video. The performance side of my video will be a dancer doing contemporary dance showing emotion and actions throughout. The narrative side of my video will be snippets of live events that have happened that make the person he is singing about who is giving him a ‘purpose’ so special to him. The life events that could happen is maybe being bullied, parents separating, family members or friends passing away. These are an example of the life events where she could be being supportive to him. The other life events I could show are happy events, romantic events. These events could be I want my audience to feel the emotion from the video.

Angles and Shot TypesO The props used by Little Mix in their song ‘Black Magic’ are glasses, rucksacks, a

book, candles, chairs, paper and a shoulder back.O The costumes that Little Mix wear in ‘Black Magic’ are at the beginning of the song

the song they are dressed ‘nerdy’. Jade and Perrie are wearing glasses and rucksacks. They all are wearing shirts tucked into their pants wearing trainers and boots. Further on in the song their outfits then turn into more stylish outfits, wearing patterned skirts and shorts which have similar tops to go with them. Their hair and make up is done nicely and they are wearing heeled shoes.

O The location of the song ‘Black Magic’ is at a high school and at a house. O The settings of the song is in the school library, school halls, school theatre and a

bedroom.O The lighting in ‘Black Magic’ is natural high key lighting and artificial lighting. O The camera angles in the music video are tracking, tilts up and down and zooming in

My Current/Own Examples

O The props for the performance part of my music video there will be no props as I want the room empty. Most of my video will be the performance. On the snippets in my music video one of the snippets will be in a bedroom so the props I will need is a bed, a bedside cabinet, tissues and bed accessories. In another snippet of my music video I want the props to be winter accessories to keep my actors warm for this part of the snippet.

O The costume for the dance performance will be bare footed and either full white or full black outfit. The outfit will be difference according to what part the snippet it is. For some of them I will want comfy clothes to be worn with no shows. For others I want wintery outfits for snippets outside when my actors are acting in my snippets.

O The setting will be in a plain empty studio for the performance and for the snippets a bedroom, kitchen and a park.

O The lighting will be natural lighting, high key lighting for the snippets and the lighting will be artificial for the performance.

O The camera angles will be tracking, tilting, pan for the snippets and for the performance it will be tracking, pan and I will maybe add some slow motion giving an effect.

O The shot types I will use are close up, medium shot, long shot and a establishing shot.
