So what is Moodle?
• Learning Management System software, like Blackboard or Angel• Open source–initially free–can be added to or modified by its users
Moodle was created by Martin Dougiamas at Curtin University, in Perth Australia. He is still active in Moodle discussion groups.
Today the Moodle “community” includes about 37,000 sites, with over 25 million users. People around the world who are working with Moodle share the various refinements and additions to the software at:
moodle.org
Many schools, colleges, institutions and organizations use Moodle to offer online learning.
