Ace HardwareHas practically every hardware under the sun

and a place where you can while away hours just surfing the place. I would call this as ‘ONE STOP SOLUTION FOR BEAUTIFYING YOUR HOME’

Page 3: Observation lab

EnvironmentThis place is well lighted and safe flooring a high ceiling.

The products are stacked almost till the top of course the top racks are filled with the stocks.

On weekends this store is usually busy while I will not call it noisy. The temperature is pleasant.

Usually it is well stocked.

The cash counter is located close to the entrance which is convenient.

The security opens the door for you. I can spend at least an hour at the store at a stretch. I find this store reasonably priced for all that it offers.

Page 4: Observation lab

Before you enter the store

• Everytime there is a promo banner outside the store, I walk in.

• There is always a security who opens the door with a smile and a welcome greeting. This store has a lot of interesting things to offer.

• The storage boxes and bottles section attract me the most here.

• It is a ‘One stop solution’ for me except my groceries

Page 5: Observation lab

PersonnelVery pleasant salesgirls and salesmen all in

uniform. Very interesting fact in Indonesia is people love their uniform and their identity card.

There is a sales representative attending to you as soon as you enter the store. They allow you to look around and feel the product.

Expats and locals are treated the same. I usually go to these stores on a weekday so the ratio is around 1:5. All in the 20’s something.

Not sure if they use the store product.

Page 6: Observation lab

ProductsThe first products which attracts me as soon as I

enter are the ones on offer, which is quite often displayed near the entrance.

The products are arranged as per categories for eg kitchenware, electronic goods, adventure sports gear, going to school.

The free demos are organized for the consumer goods which includes home appliances

I found most of products stacked at eye level and easily accessible, unless they are huge.

OFFICE 2000The mecca for buying stationary in Jakarta

Page 8: Observation lab

Before you enter the storeI visit the store since I fancy these pretty and

colorful looking pencils, pencil sharpener, erasers, markers

The door is always wide open infact lot of the merchandize is displayed outside the outlet, this makes me start looking at the stuff from the moment I put my foot in.

The signage is quite bright and of the apt color and quite clear that it is a stationary place

Page 9: Observation lab

Environment It is not a large outlet but sufficient to stack all the stationary,

could have been bigger for me to keep admiring the stuff and a sharp turn can drop lot of merchandize from the shelf.

Ceiling is not too high because all the products are easily accessible and are stacked in shelves that can be reached by a person of reasonable height.

Lighting is bright enough to bounce the colorful pens and other things. Peaceful not noisy, no music and since the door is open it is quite pleasant, I have seen most of the office 2000 stores situated in malls

The cash register is stocked near the entrance again. There are sales personnel at the entrance so no need for security. I can spend about 20 minutes since it is not too big. I do not believe that the environment influences the value of the merchandize.

Page 10: Observation lab

PersonnelVery customer friendly, usually on 1:1 service.

Equal number of boys and girls all in pleasant color uniforms, very presentable

All customers are treated equally.

Page 11: Observation lab

ProductsI usually notice the product which I drop by to

buy before anything else, it the particular merchandize is out of stock I walk out.

The new arrivals are placed on tables at the entrance while the products on sale are stacked in the shelf with the discount tag.

The merchandize is arranged by function, all at eye level definitely accessible by all.

Food WorldThe nearest Gourmet store for me

Page 13: Observation lab

Before you enter the store The fresh fruit and

vegetables draw me in

The door is open and the place is always sufficiently stocked

Page 14: Observation lab

Environment

Brightly lighted and clean floors. High ceiling, only the cash counter is noisy and crowded, because the waiting time is too long because of few counters

Merchandize is crowded. The smell of the bakery section draws me in every time. You enter from the left and you exit from the right where the cash counter is situated.

Can do all my grocery shopping here so can spend an hour, wish could spend less time for billing. The environment does not influence the price here.

Page 15: Observation lab

PersonnelThis store is convenient for shopping without the

help of the sales personnel, all you need to pick them off the shelf. I usually see the staff setting up the merchandize and yes they definitely help you find a product if you are wondering where it is placed.

Employees are all young and all in uniform.

Page 16: Observation lab

Products

I head towards the fresh vegetable section to see if the most essential in Indian vegetarian cooking that is the coriander leaves are in stock.

Usually the seasonal fruits are piled up at the central table.

Items on sale are close to their category and all the products are arranged by function.

Free gourmet samples are provided, all products at eye level and accessible

iBoxIndonesia’s leading Apple Premium Reseller, a

great place for Mac maniacs to spend hours

Page 18: Observation lab

Before you enter the storeAll Mac fans yes, since I am one the store does

draw me in

The door is open very spacious outlet and bold signage cannot miss this store usually situated in a mall.

Definitely the i in iBox rings a loud bell

Page 19: Observation lab

EnvironmentThe flooring and the walls shows that it is an

outlet selling computers, accessories and all upgrades. Soft music also playing. The cash counter is usually facing the entrance but right behind the store.

Can spend more time if there are new launches else I find it is a waste of time. Yes the merchandise is expensive here.

Page 20: Observation lab

PersonnelThe young energetic sales personnel who love

these gadgets are always looking forward to help you decide on a product. All in their uniforms.

Ratio of sales personnel to customer is 1:1 always.

Not all of them are well informed though, wish they got trained better.

Page 21: Observation lab

ProductsFrankly not much for me to see here unless

there is a new launch.

All the Mac products are displayed at the center like iMac, iphone, laptops and ipads.

The accessories like screen guard, laptop bags, speakers, headphones all at the sides

They usually have demos if you ask them.

Page 22: Observation lab

Wisma Cheshire StoreThis is an NGO run store. All the products are

made by physically challenged people, most of them on wheel chairs who have lost their limbs or are disabled

Page 23: Observation lab

Before you enter the storeThe store definitely draws everybody because

everything is made by these physically challenged people with limited resources.

The door is always open. No big signage in fact the store does not even have a name since it is a part of an organization

Shows the hidden talent, which can groomed well with training

Page 24: Observation lab

EnvironmentNeatly kept store, with all the inmates around

you you feel like spending time there. The cash register is also located in the small room which has the shelves stacked with the merchandize.

People are willing to pay here in order to help them.

Page 25: Observation lab

Personnel

The person who initiates the sales is a trainer here at the NGO.

They usually supply for the bazaars so not many people coming down to the shop.

Page 26: Observation lab

Well made toy houses for kids, always having merchandize which can be gifted like bags, pouches, tea casseroles, coasters.

The central display is the gift for the festive season.
