Rules For the Entire Quiz

• There shall be no prelims but only finals because who wants to miss out on the fun right?

• There will be 4(or rather 5 now) teams in total, divide it amongst yourselves and make the job a bit easier for me okay?

• “Hey this is unfair! The Quizmaster only watches Life Note, Half Metal Alchemist, Defense on Titan while I am an expert on Three Piece, Dinosaur Ball Z and Bleaching Powder! How will I prove I am the best Otaku???!! Noooooo” – Hence we have 4 different sets created by at least 1 Quiz Master who will represent one of the 4 team! PS the quiz master will also be taking part as well!

• 20 Questions

• +10/0 on Direct ,+5 on Pass, +10/-5 on pounce

• Part points applicable wherever necessary

• Part pounce allowed on discretion of the QM

• QM = Sage of Six Paths so he shall have the overriding power over every decision

• Any duels to be settled after this quiz at the valley of the end, preferably not a fight till death , I’ll be ready with my unison sign in advance!


1.Baroque Works is a criminal organization where criminals are paired up in a male-female pair. The male members have a number as a codename, a lower number indicating higher rank while the female members are given a ‘day’ as their codename - which may be a normal day of the week or a special occasion with special days being indicative of higher ranks. An example would be the pairing of the 5th Ranked Mr 5 and Miss Valentine ,Mr 0 and Miss All Sunday, miss Wednesday and Mr 9 .

A special exception to this is seen in this pairing, referred to as the ‘unluckies’ where the members are animals instead of humans – a male otter and a female vulture Simply tell me what are the codenames of the Otter and the Vulture.

2. The man on the picture is ‘X’ the founder of the X dynasty in Hawaii. X had conquered most of the Hawaiian Islands and had played a major role in the unification of Hawaii. X shares its name with something in a popular anime as well.

The creator of the Anime tried a number of poses when he was alone in order to decide the best pose for the X. He was later suggested by his wife to name it after this Hawaiian king so that it’d be easy to remember and of course the rest was history! (bad pun I guess?)

X in Greek mythology is a daughter of the Titans Coeus and Phoebe and the mother of Apollo. X also is the surname shared by 2 brothers in the band 30 Seconds to Mars, with the younger brother creating quite a few headlines for his role of a popular character in a 2016 Hollywood movie.

4The Pokemon company finds itself in an unusual position in the Guinness book records for “Most Photosensitive Epileptic Seizures Caused by a Television Show” for its episode titled Dennō Senshi X ( Cyber Soldier X) which was broadcast in Japan in 1997.

The episode was centered around a Pokemon which was artificially created by scientists and its name is based on a word Y which is used to denote a certain set of closed geometric figures. In fact a very ‘Asian’ or rather ‘Racist’ way of pronouncing Y will give you X.

5.A Tengu is a mythological creature which has the form of a bird. Later on they were made to look more like humans and as a result certain bird like aspects were suitably changed to make it so. A certain bird feature got adapted into something prominent in the human form of Tengus. The Mask of Tengu are a close part of Japanese folklore and it even features as an emoji as a Unicode character U+1F47A

Kaiji is a Japanese manga series about the art of gambling, written by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. Kaiji gets caught in a myriad of debt and as a last resort boards a gambling ship Espoir where he is made to gamble by playing a variation of a simple game X, which is usually a simple game unrelated to gambling, however with the twist that the game would be played with the help of Cards instead of the traditional method which needs no equipment.

The use of cards is done deliberately so as to restrict the chances of the moves of the game with the game thus being referred to as ‘Restricted X’ in the Anime.

What simple game is X? You’ll have surely played this, most probably not for gambling though!

Shaktimaan the animated series in an Indian animated cartoon series created by Reliance Animation and was first aired on Sonic on December 20, 2011. The reason why I am asking this question in an anime quiz is that the voice actor for the guy named Tock is someone who is quite famous in the world of Anime.

This Japanese anime character derives its name from the fact that he has a bun filled with red bean paste as his head. The anime is mostly targeted towards kids and was even aired in India on Pogo in 2009

Another recently famous anime character was inspired from the character being talked about in the above para. The characters Japanese name is a pun on the name of the other character while the color of his clothes (gloves and body clothes) are just the opposite of what the character discussed above wore.

Unfortunately the author of this manga Yoshito Usui died on September 11, 2009 ending the manga in its original form however members of his team planned to relaunch a new version of it by Summer 2010.

17.The Miraculous _____ was a one shot manga released by Shigeru Mizuki in 1973 which features the story of a middle aged man Yamada , whom everyone likes to makes fun of but only Old Miss treated him differently. Yamada , one day donates 1,000 yen to an old shrine where he finds something lying around. Old Miss strikes up a conversation with Yamada about his visit one day while having a drink with Yamada, who suddenly becomes a happy man, the reason being attributed to that lying object which he successfully tested on a dog.

Fast forward till the end, Old Miss steals that object, Yamada suffers depression due to some deeds done my Old Miss, he then kills her , commits suicide and burns the object.Many fans in 2006 posted about this Manga claiming it to be the inspiration behind another manga which the creator ultimately denied the next year.Which manga am I talking about?

Capoeira is a Brazillian martial art known for its distinct ‘kicking styles’ as shown in these 2 GIFs.

This fighting style can also be seen in an Anime which is totally not associated with any prominent Action scenes with the only exception being the one fighting scene between the character X and the Antagonist where X was seeing using this kicking style.

Fans of the anime had reported that X’s fighting style was similar to capoeira to which the creator denied that he had kept that in mind drawing the scenes and it was the most effective way to kick in that moment as he was under a certain ‘constraint’.
