Christianity and Spanish colonization

The Spaniards were able to keep the Philippines as a colony because most of the Filipinos became Christians.

The Only Christian Nation:Spaniards used the Philippines as the military

base and mission centre to spread Spanish power and Christianity to other Asian counties. Although it failed they kept the Philippines as a mission field.

The Philippines was the spiritual light of Asia as far back as the 16th century.
