3520 Graduates received degrees

18,000 programs printed

180+ officers, volunteers & faculty marshals to direct traffic, assist guests and organize graduates

27,050 chairs were set across 9 different campus locations

27 tents erected across campus

7 simultaneous diploma ceremonies

Every 3.8 seconds a graduate’s name was called to receive their diploma If you added one second to each name, it would add 26 minutes to the

program

Schedule

Wednesday THE PARTY – 9pm to Midnight

Thursday Senior Day Speaker – 10am to 11am Faculty Seminars – 1:30 & 2:45 (hour each)

Friday Commencement Ceremonies – 9am to Noon Strawberries and Champagne – Noon to 1:30

Saturday All students must be out of dorms – 1pm

9:00pm – midnight Open to all graduates and their

families or guests Graduates receive free admission

in their Almost Alumni Handbook Tickets are $20 each or a

reserved table for 10 for $200 All ages welcome

Sr. Day Speaker 10:00am – 11:00am Memorial Gym Open to all graduates and their families

Faculty Seminars 4 seminars 1:30pm & 2:45pm Taste of what your students experienced

Commencement Day

9:00am – Noon Undergraduates stay on Alumni Lawn Graduate/Professional/Medical depart for their diploma

ceremonies around 10:15

Alumni Lawn Programs, hand fans & bottled water provided No saving seats Arrive no later than 8:00am No tickets required

Strawberries and Champagne for the class of 2011 Noon to 1:30

Photography and Video

Grad Images will photograph each graduate in 3 different poses Prior – On stage – After with diploma

Senior Day Speaker & Commencement (main ceremony) are both streamed live via the web.

The entire main ceremony is also available for purchase on DVD

Shuttles & Parking

Shuttles run all three days of Commencement No charge Schedule and maps on website Shuttles run from parking garages to event site

Multiple parking garages open on all three days of Commencement No charge Locations on website

Disability parking passes available through the EAD office Handicap or Drop off permits Register online

Wednesday THE PARTY occurs rain or shine

Thursday Both the Sr. Day speaker and Faculty Seminars

are located indoors

Last day to order Announcements for arrival before Commencement

April 22nd Last day to make private dining reservations

April 29th Last day to purchase tickets online to THE PARTY

May 4th Deadline to reserve Housing at the Commons Final day to order box lunches

June 30th Deadline to order Commencement DVD

There are no official university events after Friday

No tickets are required for any Commencement event EXCEPT for “THE PARTY”

All maps online are formatted 8 ½ x 11 for easy printing

Hotels begin filling up a year out- Some require multiple night stays
