The Bermuda Triangle The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region in the

western part of the North Atlantic Ocean between the islands Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Fort Laurderlate (Florida). The Bermuda Triangle was first appointed by the writer see Vincent Gaddis.

The area is surrounded by an imaginary line that runs from Florida to Bermuda and Puerto Rico, and then back again to Florida. This area has the reputation of being very dangerous. It looks like a triangle.

This phenomenon was created by nature and man was who spread it all over the world.

Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu “old mountain”, is situated in Peru. It was constructed in the 15th century.

The ruins are formed by stone blocks. The place was inhabited by the Incas. They worked and harvested the land. It was used as a temple to worship their gods.

It was built with a group of fifty thousand men . It was directed and built by the first Inca emperor, Pachacutec.

The Incas had a cosmological vision of their existence. The city was built as a sanctuary.

Mount RushmoreWhere is it situated?  It is a monumental sculpture carved into a granite mountain located in Keinstone,

South Dakota. When was it built?  Gutzon Borglum and 400 workers carved the colosal 18-meter bust of USA

presidents. They represent the first 150 years of history of the United StatesWhat does it look like?  Sculpture of the heads of former United States presidents (from left to right) George

Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. The entire memorial covers 5.17 km2 and it is 1,745 m above sea level.

How was it built?  The construction of Mount Rushmore National Memorial took about 14 years, from

Cerro de la Gloria Where is it situated? When was it built? The monument is located in General San Martin Park, Mendoza, Argentina. The cornerstone was placed in 1911.What does it look like? On a Stone base, the statue of General Jose de San Martin, on both sides of the body of grenadiers on horseback.

On the sides and the back there are three friezes On the east side stands the figure of Fray Luis Beltran; on the south side are seen the figures of people, in the western side tell the battalion´s departure to Chile and highlights the figure of Sosa. At the top, symbolizing Liberty with broken chains in her hands around a group of riot police on horseback, below is seen a condor. In the east wall the Argentine shield is inserted; in the west are the Chilean and Peruvian shields.

How was it built? The monument consists of a base of rocks and a large sculpture in bronze. It was made by the Uruguayan

sculptor Juan M. Ferrari.Why was it built? The monument was originated as an initiative of the National Government to celebrate the centenary of Argentine Independence.

Cristo Redentor It is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 708 meters above sea level, in

Tijuca National Park. It was inaugurated on October 12th, 1931, after about five years of work.

The statue of “Cristo Redentor”, or “Cristo de Corvado” is a 30 meters image of Jesus of Nazareth with open arms facing the city, and the port of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The concrete construction, over 1000 tons, combines engineering, architecture and sculpture.

The initiative to build the Christ was of the Catholic Church, on the occasion of the centenary of the Independence of Brazil in 1922, although the Christ was not opened until October 12th, 1931.

Lincoln Memorial It is located on the National Mall in Washington D.C. It was founded in

1922. The building is in the form of a Greek temple and contains a large seated

sculpture of Abraham Lincoln and inscriptions of two well-known speeches by Lincoln.

In March 1867 the United States Congress directed the Lincoln Monument Association to build a memorial to Lincoln. There was little progress on the project until it was decided the location in 1901 in a swampy area. Congress formally authorized the construction of the monument on February 9, 1911, and the first stone was not located until Lincoln's birthday, on February 12, 1914.

The monument was built not only to commemorate the death of Lincoln, but also to remember that Lincoln paid $ 1 million to the owners of slaves in Washington to free their slaves.

Easter IslandWhere is it situated? When was it built?This island is located 3700 kms from Chile, and 4050 kms from Polynesia. This island was discovered on Easter Sunday in 1722 by Jacob Roggenvee. It is knownas Easter Island. What does it look like? How was it built? Giants and colossal guards of volcanic stone. They are carved in one piece and arranged in connection with the coast like

an imaginary limit, In total 550 stony enigmas oscillating between 4 and 20 meters of size. Their features show some big ears that stick up from their enormous heads, sometimes finished off with an ample hat of great tonnage.

Why was it built?Are they auto-portraits of the giant-sized gods with hats?This was not established scientifically.

Eiffel TowerWhere is situated? When was it built? The Eiffel Tower is the most famous monument of France. It is an iron

structure situated in Paris. It was built between 1887 and 1889.What does it look like? The tower looks like a triangle.How was it built? The Eiffel tower was built following the design a French engineer

named Gustave Eiffel and built by 250 workers.Why was it built? It was built in 1889 for the universal exposition in Paris.

Perito Moreno GlacierThe Perito Moreno glacier is situated in the southwest of the

province of Santa Cruz, Argentina. The perito moreno glacier is considered the 8th wonder of the

world for its spectacular views.It stands along a valley. Its forehead is 5 km long and more than

Rosario-Victoria Bridge It is situated between Rosario and Victoria.

It was built in 1997.It is a strained bridge formed by iron.It was not until 1997 that construction began on the bridge. The inauguration finally took place May 22th, 2003. It was built to connect two provinces across the bridge, from one province to another, and enjoy the sights, and also to meet the needs of each province.

The Iguazu Falls

The Iguazu Falls are waterfalls. They form part of the Iguazu River.They are located on the border of the Brazilian state of Parana and the Argentine province of Misiones.

The Kremlin

It is located in Russia .Moscow is the capital and holds the title of ‘Heroic City.’The Kremlin was a Slavic population in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. In ancient times the word "kreml" was used to describe the walled city centre.

The existing walled towers were built in the fifteenth century, between 1485 and 1495, in the same place where before was located the old white stone wall. This was a great fortification work. Kremlin towers are connected by a high , forming a triangle with an irregular area of 28 hectares

Since 1991 it is the State Museum of History and Culture of the Kremlin.

The Tower of PisaWhere is it situated? Tower of Pisa is in Pisa, Italy. It is a town in Italian region of Tuscany and is

the capital of the homonymous province.When was it built? The construction of the Tower of Pisa was developed in three stages over a

period of 200 years. Its construction on the first floor of marble began on August 8th, 1173.

What does it look like? It is a circular tower that is leaning.Why was it built? It was built because they wanted a bell tower for the cathedral of Pisa.

The White House

The White House is located in Washington DC, United States of America and is the official home of President Barack Obama.

The design of the White House was inspired by the Leinster House (Dublin) and Castletown House (Celbridge), both following the Palladian style.

It is a symbol of freedom and American pride but, paradoxically, it was built largely by enslaved African Americans.

The Statue of Liberty

It is one of the most famous monuments in New York, United States and around the world. It´s located on Liberty Island south of the island of Manhattan, near the mouth of the Hudson River near Ellis Island.

It was a gift from the French to the U.S.A in 1886 to commemorate the centennial of the Declaration of Independence of the United States and as a sign of friendship between the two nations.

The Statue of Liberty is about 46 meters tall and weighs 225 tonns. It was light to transport by sea, and was inspired by the Colossus of Rhodes, which was hollow, coated brass. I t is covered by thin sheets of copper.

The Taj Mahal

    The Taj Mahal is a complex of buildings in the city of Agra India, Paradesh Cathar  State . It was built between 1654-1631.

     Although it has been built to keep the body of his wife , the Taj Mahal is like a cathedral or a castle.

     The Taj Mahal needed 20.000 men to build and more than 100.000 tons of white marble and precious stones such as amathyst, jade, emeralds etc. The entire construction took 22 years and has  a marble dome for each year.

    It was built for the love the king had to his wife, who died giving birth to his son number 14.
