Your Pre-Production• You will create a script for a Podcast about YOU!• Total show will be 2-3 minutes. No other audio at first

other than your voice. (we will add music and effects later)

• Topic can be of your choosing…• Create Your Script

– Opening - Think of a fancy opening for your podcast. What will attract the listener to keep listening? (15-20 seconds)

– Content - Tell the listener some information about you. What do you like to do? What did you do this summer? Sports? Hobbies? Fun? (1-2 minutes)

– Closing - Thanking the viewer for listening (10-20 seconds)

Podcasting: Your Pre-Production

Script Writing Tips– Think about your audience and use appropriate language.– Write as you speak. Be conversational. Don't have to use

formal language.– Keep reading your scripts out loud to check how sounds.– Avoid repeating the same word(s) too often.– Avoid repeating the same word(s) too often. :)

• Common Examples: Actually, Then, And, So, But – Write any words which are tricky to pronounce phonetically.

• Example: phonetically = phone-et-ick-lee – The average person speaks about 3 words per second – …So plan for 80-90 words for about 30 seconds of you

talking for your podcast.
