Podcasting: Introduction

 • Podcasting is used to post audio and video files

onto the internet for instant use. • Podcasts have web feeds known as RSS- Really

Simple Syndication which are sent to podcatching software such as iTunes.

 • Podcasts can be used in multiple media forms from

your home computer to your phone.

Benefits:• Project Based Learning•  Constructivist approach•  Creatively engages

the Digital Native•  Encourages higher

order thinking skills; critical thinking, analysis and problem solving

•  Allows students to upload to the class website.

•  Lectures/homework help can be utilized from the class website.

Cons:• Time consuming• Technology can be

challenging for some teachers

• Pictures and voice being made public ie. YouTube

• Pictures and audio would need parental consent

Practice makes perfect. It will cut down on edit time!
