Ideas for my final production

My production

• I intend produce outcomes for brief one: Apromotion package for the release of analbum, to include a music promo video,together with two of the following threeoptions:– A website homepage for the band

– A cover for its release as part of a digipak

– A magazine advertisement for the digipak

Overall Idea

• My idea is to create a music video for an up andcoming band. The video will predominantly be aband video, focusing on slow motion and ordramatic filming of the band playing their songs. Iam also yet to decide if I would like to include astory line within the music video, and cross cutbetween the two styles of filming, in a stylesimilar to Asking Alexandria’s music videos. I willalso be creating a cover for the digipak andhomepage.

Target Market

• I have a band in mind to film for my video anduse as the focus/client of my work, who are ametal/heavy metal band. So obviously thetarget audience of my productions would be arock and or metal music enthusiast. And arelikely to listen to existing bands such as; Gunsand Roses, AC/DC, and Pantera. I feel the mainage of the target audience will be youngadults or teenagers.

Relationship between the products

• In terms of how all the products will relate toeach other and work as a package, I willensure the styles of all my products aresimilar, including the colour schemes, fonts,and overall feel and theme to my work.

Exhibition and Distribution

• Due to the age of my target audience I will consider exhibition through YouTube, and on Facebook, as typically people of a younger age are more digitally literate, and hear about things more often online, so would be beneficial to distribute and exhibit the products online. I would also consider selling at their own concerts.

Needed skill sets I need

• I need to have the ability to work on my own andstay organised enough to not fall behind on thework load

• I need to be able to communicate with a range ofpeople, if I require them to assist in some jobs Ineed and the people in the band I am planning tofilm

• I need to be creative with my work but also makesure that I design my to be suitable for thestyle/genre of the band I am filming.

Skills that need improvement

• I need to ensure that I work hard enough to stay on top of all my work

• I also need to work hard to make my music promotion and the other two products interesting and creative to stand out against other existing products.
