(EQI) is the internaonal arm of the Department of Educaon and
Training (DET), Queensland Government. Being part of Queensland
Government, EQIs key objecves are to promote Queenslands educaon
and training internaonally, to grow and sustain business and
increase the level of internaonal
engagement.
DET employs approximately 66,000 people or nearly one-third of
all Queensland public servants, and is the sixth largest human
services organisaon in the southern hemisphere.
The Department manages 1,239 state schools with nearly 500,000
students across seven educaonal regions within Queensland,
delivering services across the primary and secondary schooling
sectors. DET also enrols more than 210,000 students each year in
its 13 Technical and Further Educaon (TAFE)
instutes.
Key Strengths
EQI specialises in arranging onshore student programs, study
tour and professional visits for overseas students/visitors, both
short term and long term. It
has also capacity to deliver offshore internaonal educaon
programs for foreign schools or governments.
Since 1984, EQI has established its reputaon in the internaonal
educaon and training industry delivering world-class innovave
customised soluons to meet the needs of local and internaonal
clients.
EQIs experse has been acknowledged naonally and internaonally at
educaon and training awards such as the 2009 IEAA Internaonal

EQIs Study Tours and Professional Visits Unit has been operang
for more than two decades, arranging internaonal study tour groups
from around the world to visit Queensland.
For the past three financial years, EQI has hosted over 1,200
groups to Queensland for over 32,000 internaonal visitors, both
students and professionals.

Official Farewell and Networking
EQI will invite a senior representave to farewell the visitors
on behalf of the department. Invitaon will also be extended to
other educators to aend and network with the visitors.

The Gold Coast is world famous tourist desnaon and is
conveniently located less than one hour drive north to Brisbane and
the neighbouring state of New South Wales to the south. The Gold
Coast is also a centre for many internaonal events, including the
forthcoming 2018 Commonwealth Games. The City features 2 000 km
coastline, beauful beaches, theme parks, shopping malls, hotels and
restaurants. Return bus transfer (travel me approx. 1 hour per
