B. SWARLT (Start With A Reading-Listening Technique)

The Wise Son In Africa, in the country of Ghana, there once lived a man who had three sons. One day, before he left on a long journey, Mario gathered his sons around him. He gave each child an egg. “I will be gone for a long time.” He told his sons. “Use these eggs to help your mother.” But as soon Mario left, the two older boys cooked and ate their eggs. The youngest boy, Elmo, gave his egg to his mother, who put it under a hen to hatch. Many months later, Mario returned. The youngest son prepared a feast to welcome him back-for he had many chickens and many eggs.

Questions: a. Where did the story happen?

b. what is the name of the father in the story? c. How many sons he have? d. After reading and listening to the story. What did you learned?

C. Motivation

I have here a table with 5 columns (persons, places, things, animals and ideas or events). Beside the table are list of words. If you believe that this word is a name of person, then place this to its column (person) and so the same with others.

There are many kinds of nouns, but today, let’s focus on the first two kind of nouns - Proper Nouns and Common Nouns.

What do you think our lesson for today?

Very Good! Now, let us define what is Common Noun? Everybody read.

Examples: food, student, flower, country

How about Proper Noun? Kindly read.

Examples: Adobo, Lara, Sunflower, Japan

- Noun is the name of person, place, thing, animal, and events.

- Proper Nouns and Common Nouns

- Common Nouns are used to name persons, places, things, animals and events in GENERAL. It refers to class or types of noun without being specific.

- Proper Nouns are used to name SPECIFIC person, place, things, animals and events. It is always begin with a capital letter.
