O Looking back at the front cover of a college magazine I produced for my preliminary task, I believe that I have improved and learnt a lot regarding my knowledge on technology and how to efficiently create a magazine. I now understand in more detail the features that are used to attract the target audience.

O In my preliminary task I did not include many images at all, in fact I only used one original image which was the main picture, I also didn’t give a main feature story to go along with the main image. However in my finished magazine front cover I included 11 original images, including one for my main image. Alongside the main image I also included a main feature story which is shown in big, bold writing to stand out to the audience.

O I think that the pictures that I took in the photo shoot were also taken a lot better than I originally did. For the preliminary task I took about 5 images whereas to shoot my front cover I took over 70 images to make sure that I could find one that was best suited for my front cover. As I was taking these images for my magazine front cover I knew what types of poses I wanted the girls to do and I was analysing them so I could see what impression that that type of picture would give to the audience.

O As well as the pictures themselves, I have also vastly improved my knowledge on software such as Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher. When I was creating my preliminary task, I was clueless on how to work around Photoshop and constantly had to ask for help on how to do specific things; however now I have learnt how to get around it and what different things it has to offer. To improve my knowledge I always asked for help from my teachers and fellow students, as well as this I also went on YouTube and watched tutorials to find out how to do things to improve my product.
