2.How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Here I will show parts of my main product which is a music video that I have created to the song ‘Hey Brother’ by Avicii. What makes an effective combination of the main products and ancillary texts is how similar and recognisable they are and how codes and conventions come together to create products that link to be effective they have to appeal to the target audience in some way.

Here is the establishing shot of my music video which has been effectively combined to my poster and digi pack of my poster. It is a shot of a black and white forest which I had gained inspiration from the original video of ‘Hey Brother’ by Avicii not only this but because I had added ideas surrounded by animals it seem to fit in with that as well as other parts of the video that are filmed in the woods. I have used the same image in my digi pack as shown here so therefore will be automatically recognisable.

Here I have used Photoshop to layer images on animals onto members of the band not only my music video but also on my digi pack and the music advertisement this is an affective combination because it has been shown throughout my coursework and if the viewer does not at first understand the message the repetition of it will help to re-enforce it.

Close-up shots have been used throughout this project this helps to show what my video is trying to portray the feelings between friends and family . I asked the characters to try and show emotions through the face and the way that they were singing the song so therefore close ups are more effective to show this.

Combinations of a black and white effect have been used on the home footage part of my video and link to the ancillary products in my project as I have used the same filters, fonts and colours. As other parts of my video were not black and white I thought that I should make this part black and white as with the characters used this part most linked to my products.

Here I have used a combination of the same logo throughout my projects and this as an effective way of brand identity and star iconography,, I have done this because in bluegrass music this is not usually about this but this is how I have incorporated the dance element of this song to it.
