When a tiger has eaten it’s fill, the abandoned prey becomes food for a variety of mammals, birds, and reptiles. It keeps populations of sambir deer and wild boar down. Some cultures believe that powdered tiger bones have medical values.

The Bengal Tiger once ranged widely across Asia, from Turkey in the west to the eastern coast of Russia. Over past 100 years, Bengal Tigers have disappeared from south west and central Asia. They are currently found in some Asian range states- Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Thailand etc. They may still persist in North Korea, although there has been no recent confirmed evidence.

I am a Bengal Tiger. Humans are destructing my species. Their activities are affecting my species’ survival. Such as-Conversion of forest land to agriculture and silviculture, commercial logging, and human settlement are the main drivers of tiger habitat loss. It is feared that poaching of tigers for the use of their bones, skin, teeth, and claws drive them to extinction.

Besides this, prey base depletion to be the leading threat to tigers in otherwise suitable habitat.

Tigers attack on livestock and people, can lead to intolerance of tigers neighbouring communities and presents an ongoing challenge to tiger conservation.
