Expert 1: Dr. Peter SingerPeter Singer supports psychological research in the means of causing no harm to the participant. Research must be done in an ethical way while maintaining his model of moral philosophy. Peter Singers Moral Philosophy- Questioning ones fundamental moral beliefs in an open-minded, dispassionate way, and it requires the intellectual courage to revise ones beliefs in light of theory and under pressure of argument (Engle, M. 2011).Peter Singer has written and speaks eloquently, arguing his model. He explores equality for all life with regard to interest rather than treatment (Engle, M. 2011). He speaks of equality for non-humans as well. This is perhaps his most important principle in ethics which may be extended into his beliefs regarding research.Peter Singers beliefs are often debated. His model ultimately displays his belief that Living ones life in accordance with ones fundamental moral beliefs and values is one of the most meaningful ways one can live (Engle, M. 2011). Website Recommended by Peter Singer www.apa.org for an outline of the Five Principles of research ethics as outlined by the American Psychological Association.

Expert 2: Dr. Erich Fromm Erich Fromm would expect that if psychological research was to be done from a humanistic ethical approach it must cause no harm to the individual. Psychological research runs a risk of constricting or reducing the humans actual human behavior. Fromm recommends to achieve true morality one must free one-self from the ties of blood and soil, from his mother and his father, from special loyalties to state, class, race, party, or religion (Leonidas, C.K. 2011). His philosophy in ethics is based on the human race objectified rather than conflict of societal influence.Website recommended by Expert: www.ahpweb.org/ for information devoted to the exploration and furthering of the science of Humanistic Psychology.See also http://www.aapb.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pagesID=3394 for information related to the Geneology of Humanistic Psychology.
