Main Heading – the large, bold font size and colour helps to draw the readers’ attention. The main heading sneakily reveals an insight into what the article is going to be about depending on what the readers know about this certain program. Standfirst – A standfirst is a convention that helps give a taste of what is to come in the article. It gives a brief summary. Side Quote – this is another convention that accompanies an image; the convention appears a lot in this genre of magazine. In this example, it gives the gives us a quote from an unknown source. Main image – the main image in this article covers the whole two pages of this double page spread. The shot is a wide angled shot and would be considered to be a medium-long shot showing us the main characters in this program. Page number and publisher – the use of a page number is common in any magazine. In conclusion the double page spread has been designed in a specific way. They have incorporated many stereotypical conventions of a magazine of this genre. However, have also incorporated some of their own themes in there as well such as the colour scheme.
