What is Frozen ?Frozen is one of the biggest film animation that ever

made by Disney. Its popularity known by every people in this world and not only the movie that popular, but the soundtrack of the film “Let it go” is also too. Like any other Disney animation that being famous for, this movie is about a kingdom and a princess. This movie is not only for a child but every age can watch this movie. So, if you didn’t know about this film you must be living in cave.

Significance of Frozen

We decided to choose “blue” in Frozen film which has relation to Elsa’s characteristic.

A. Denotative: The surface meaningBlue appeared in most of Elsa’s dress, ice, the title of “FROZEN”.

B. Conotative: The deeper or hidden meaningBlue itself means calm and sadness. In Frozen dominated with color “blue” in winter.The weather is winter which symbolize of dying. The dying itself described a sadness. The character of Elsa in Frozen is loneliness. The loneliness itself alienate her because the magic which exist in her right hand. This alienation brings her in sadness.

We conclude that the significance of blue in Frozen film is to describe the main character (Elsa). She has magic which creates ice around her. It makes people around her to keep away from her, because of that she feels loneliness. The loneliness itself bring her to the alienation. So, the meaning of blue in Frozen film is loneliness and sadness.
