One Month Training Course

In turn, this makes the debt increase and finally, these card holders are unable to repay, causing problems with their personal credit.

Her mother (Frances Fisher) had a good breeding but little money, so she was taking Rose to America to marry rich Cal Hockley (Bill Zane), a match that Rose would rather have avoided. Attempting to have a suicide, she was saved by Jack Dawson (Leonardo Dicaprio), a raffish and charming third class passenger. Jack and Rose then fell in love in spite of the disapproval of both her mother and Hockley.

Cameron’s Titanic is justly recognized as something of a masterpiece. The film cost a phenomenal amount to make, and most of that spending is visible on screen. Everything about it looks sumptuous, and realistic. The romantic thread is appealing enough, because, although the romanced is occasionally rather overdone, Dicaprio does struggle at times to give his character.

Although the film is a personal romance set amidst a greater disaster story, it is also the story of Rose’s life and the effect of her experiences.

Teak is the common name for tropical for hardwood species Tectona grandis and its wood products. Tectona grandis is native to south and southeast Asia, mainly India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Burma, but it is naturalized and cultivated in many countries, including those in Africa and the Caribbean. Burma accounts for nearly one third of the world’s total teak production. It is also recognized as the national tree of Indonesia.

The word teak comes from the Tamil (in the Dravin region) word thekku. Tectona grandis is a large, deciduous tree that is dominant in mix hardwood forests. It has small, fragrance white flowers and papery leaves that are often hairy on the lower surface.

Faster planes and cheaper flight are making it easier than ever before for people to travel. In the most ‘developed’ societies, visiting exotic places is a sought-after status symbol. The tourism industries of both developing countries have recognized this fact and are learning to take advantage of it.

There are, however, some problems associated with this new industry. Firstly, there is the increasing crime rate. Some locals see tourists as an easy prey because, not only are they in unfamiliar territory and therefore less able to take care of themselves, but also they carry visible items of wealth, such as cameras and jewelery which can be disposed of quickly for profit.

SMARTPHONES FAVORED BY 1 IN 3 FILIPINOS

MANILA: One in every three Filipinos who bought cell phones from January to May this year purchased smartphones, a research company says.

“In the first five months of this year, almost 1.7 million units of smartphones were sold, translating to more than five times the sales volume for the same period last year”, research company Gfk Philippines said in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post on Monday.

Gfk Philippines report revealed that nearly 5.5 million mobile phones valued at around USD606.5 millions were sold in the first five months of the year. Out of this total, smartphones made up 30% in volume and accounted for 66 percent of value.

In May alone, sales of smartphone hit their highest level, reaching 34 percent of all mobile phones sold, while their proportion of value contribution to the overall mobile phone market reached 71 percent.

“Sales of basic feature phones grew by 30 percent and continue to remain popular, but it was the smarterphones segemtn, with its 408 percent spike in demand that has been stirring up the industry”, said Benny Villanueva, general manager of Gfk Philippines. “Its rising demand is largely triggered by the effort of the manufacturers who are offering more affordable smartphones, as well as retailers, who have started offering zero percent interest programs of up to 24 months on to of their aggressive promotion schemes”.

DR. GSSJ RATULANGI (1890-1949)

Gerungan Saul Samuel Jacob Ratulangi, who was well-known as Sam Ratulangi, was born on November 5, 1890 in Tondano, North Sulawesi. After graduating from his “Holden” school in Tondano, he continued his study at the Technical School (KWS) in Jakarta. The he moved to Bandung and worked for railroad company in south Priangan.

While he was working for the railroad company, he was badly treated by the Dutch. His salary was lower than the Dutch worker, although their ranks and education were the same as his. This bad treatment hurt his nationalist feeling. He determined to improve his knowledge and education as high as he could. He wanted to devote his life for the advancement of his nation.

In 1915 he succeeded in getting a diploma. He got his doctor degree in mathematic and natural sciences in Switzerland. In Holland he was elected leader of the organization of Asian students.

Returning from Holland, Sam Ratulangi taught mathematic in AMS (a kind of SMA during the Dutch occupation) in Yogyakarta. Then he moved to Bandung and set up an Indonesian Insurance Company. He was appointed secretary of “Dewan” Minahasa in Manado for three years, 1924-1927. He opened a new land for farming for the sake of the people, and set up an institution. In his hard struggle and protest against the Dutch government, he banned the “kerja paksa” (a practice in which people were forced to work hard without being paid) in Minahasa.

Japanese researchers have developed a robotic system that can convey the sense of touch-including temperature, hardness and texture-from a robot to human hand. The system was developed by Susumu Tachi, special professor at Keio University, and his development staff.

The users wear a helmet with a monitor display, a vest and gloves that can receive the “sense of touch” of fabric and objects grasped by the robot. The vest transmits information about the wearer’s position and posture, while the gloves recreate the sense of touch and temperature of the object.

As the robot has a number of sensors on its fingertips, the user can even feel the vibration of marbles in a glass container and detect differences in the feel of fabrics.

Japan plans to deploy two more Aegis warship armed with advanced missiles, including one that can intercept ballistic missile, a new report said Saturday, as the country tries to boltster




its defense in the wake of North Korea’s missiles launches.

Japan currently has four Aegis destroyers operating with SM-2 missiles-designed mainly to intercept aircraft-including two at Sasebo base near the East China Sea, one at Maizuru base near Kyoto, along the sea of Japan and another at Yosuka on the country east coast.

A fifth Aegis vessel, to be commissioned next spring, will be deployed also at Maizuru, Kyodo News Agency said, citing unnamed defense officials. The report did not say which type of missiles the fifth warship would have.

Japan’s navy is expected to deploy the sixth warship at Sasebo base in the southern prefecture (state) of Nagasaki in the spring 2008, the report said. The warship will be equipted with SM-3 missiles capable of intercepting ballistic, it said.

A spokeswoman for the Maritime Self-Defense Force confirmed that the government plans to upgrade at least three of its existing destroyers with SM-3 missiles.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a major political and spiritual leader of India and Indian independence movement. The Jacaranda Tree

The Jacaranda tree is a beautiful flowering tree that is native to areas of the Caribbean, Mexico, South America and Central America; however, it is extremely popular across Australia, Israel, Africa and the southwestern portion of the United States. LIKE George Lucas, Cameron is one of those writer-directors who would benefit from passing the writing chores off to another party and yet stubbornly continues to pen his screenplays himself. On the whole, the dialog in Avatar is far less turgid than what moviegoers endured in the star wars prequels, but the script still contains its fair share of clunkers. Of course, the case could be made that cheesy dialog in another important part of the sci-fi pulp tradition. Besides, subtlety and nuance have never been among Cameron’s strength; whether its action, romance or comedy, he cannot help but go big and broad. Avatar, like Titanic before it, may inspire occasional fits of giggling and eye-rolling.

It doesn’t hurt that Cameron remains one of the best action shooters in the business; the film climaxes with a sustained battle sequence that last almost 40 minutes and is truly a wonder to be hold. Scene like this one are guaranteed to hook general audiences, but in the end perhaps only sci-fi fans will be able to fully appreciate what Cameron has achieved with Avatar.

Multimedia artist, Yoko Ono was born on February 18, 1933, in Tokyo, the eldest of three children born to Eisuke and Isoko, a wealthy aristocratic family. In 1940, the family moved to New York, then back to Japan 1941 when her father transfer to Hanoi on the eve of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Ono remained in Tokyo through World War II, including the great-fire bombing of 1945. At age of 18, Ono moved with her parents to Scarsdale, New York. Settling in Greenwich Village, she developed her interest in arts and also began writing poetry. Considered too radical by many people, her work was not well received but she gained recognition after working with American Jazz musician/film producer Antony Cox, who later became her second husband. Cox financed and helped coordinate her “interactive conceptual events” in the early 1960s.

Ono first met John Lennon of the first English rock band ‘The Beatles’ in November 9, 1966, when he visited a preview of her exhibition at the Indica Gallery in London. He was taken


with the positive, interactive nature of her work. He especially cited a ladder leading up to a black canvas with a spyglass on a chain, which revealed the word “yes” written on the ceiling. They began an affair approximately 18 months later. Lennon divorced his first wife, Cynthia, (they had a son Julian) and married Ono on March 20, 1969.

The air traffic control system

How does air traffic control actually work, and how does a plane get safety from point A to point B? The system is a complex combination of radar, computers, and radio transmitters. And of course is just as important.

For this reason English has become the common language of air traffic control. All passenger and military flying in the United States are required to present to Central Flow Control (CFC) a proposed itinerary of exactly of how they intend to fly from one airport to another. Although complex, the flight plan is similar to an itinerary you might draw up for a road trip, although this one includes not only direction, but altitude and speed as well. The amount of fuel that will be used is calculated as accurately as possible too. The plan is then approved and overseen by air traffic control.

Air traffic controllers- the people you see on movies who sit in a darkened room hunched over a computer monitor- are also responsible for maintaining a safe distance between planes in the air. Controllers also must direct the planes that air coming in to land to a particular point in the sky so they can land at a specific time-these “time slots” are especially important at a busy airport such as New York’s JFK where planes every minute or so.

The control tower which is seen at airport is mostly just responsible for instructing the pilot which runway to use and when to take off and land. Most aviation accidents happen at take off or landing, so the task of guiding the plane through the maze of taxiways and runways at the airport is just essential as guiding it while airborne.

Following his father’s death, Habibie continued his study in Jakarta and then in 1955 moved to Germany. In 1960, Habibie received a degree in engineering in Germany, giving the title diploma-Engineer. The advantages and Disadvantages of Distance Learning

A few years ago, distance learning was seen as an inferior way but nowadays even famous and established traditional colleges and universities are providing distance learning courses and it is generally considered a way to improve one’s life.

However, people still argue whether distance learning give more advantages or disadvantages. Some of them who see the benefit of distance learning will say that distance learning needs no commuting. Of course, it saves money and time that students would take. Furthermore, distance learning can be done at any students’ convenience. The classes of distance learning are mostly a synchronous. It means that students do not have to attend a lecture at a fixed particular time and place. Students can review the assignments and do their homework during off hours or from home. In addition, distance learning gives more accessibility. No one can deny it. People with limited mobility may encounter the problem when they take traditional classes. With the online class system, the problem is solved.

Despite the many advantages, other people will see the distance learning is costly and needs complex technology. To attend online learning, a student must have a computer with access to the internet. Admitted or not such technology devices are not always available for common students another disadvantage of distance learning is that it cannot provide immediate feedback. Unlikely, traditional class room, students have to wait for feedback and comment until the instructor has reviewed the works and send the response to them. Most of the time, students will study alone. Distance learners may feel isolated or miss that social interaction that comes in a traditional classroom.

Regarding the individual’s learning style, some students are able to learn when there is alive interaction between them and the available accompanying teacher while others don’t really need it. The newest generation of mobile phones features a brand new operating system that goes by the name Android. Developed by Android Inc. and Google, the Android operating system is revolutionary in that allows open source development.

Internet has been the most outstanding invention in the history of mankind. With internet, our earth has become a global village. Yet like many others human made technologies, it has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Today some people cannot leave their houses without their cellphones. For them, it’s a convenient way to communicate. Cellular phones have impacted society and they have left an everlasting impression on culture with some advantages and disadvantages.

Cellphones have become popular in the last fifteen years because they have made communication easier. People can call each other no matter where they are. The more cellphones are used, the greater chances of getting brain cancer. When cellphones first came out, people purchased them in case of emergencies. Now people bring their cellphones everywhere they go and use them for pleasure, not essentially for purpose.


Giving children cellphones means more money to spend every month. Parents tend to spend money to reload their SIM cards than provide good educational necessities.

Cub Comes of Age: A Twice-Told Comic Tale

Suddenly, you’re 4 years old again, and you’ve been taken to the circus for the first time. You can only marvel at the exotic procession of animal before you: the giraffes and the elephant and the hypotenuses and all those birds in balletic flight.

The way in which Ms. Tyamor translates the film’s opening musical number, “Circle of life”, where an animal kingdom of the African plain gathers to pay homage to its leonine ruler and his newly born heir, is filled with astonishment and promise.

For one thing, it is immediately clear that “The Lion King”, which opened last night, is not going to follow the path pursued by Disney’s first Broadway venture, “Beauty and the Beast.” Ms. Taymor, a maverick artist known for her bold multicultural experiments with puppetry and ritualized theater, has her own distinctive vision; one is that mile away from standard Disney fare.

If you have young children, you probably know the plot. The lion cub Simba (Scott Irby-Ranniar), the heir to the throne of his heroic father, Musafa (Samuel E Wright), become the pawn of his father’s evil brother, Scar (John Vickery). When Scar murders Musafa, he convince the vulnerable cub that it is he who is responsible for the death. And Simba, in the tradition of young fairy tale heroes, goes to exile in a forest, where he finally comes to terms with his inner self and is ready to reclaim the throne.

The show a refreshing and more sophisticated alternative to the standard panoply of special effects that dominate most tourist-oriented shows today. Seen purely as a visual tapestry, there is simply nothing else like it.

LONDON: Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson Is willing to sell out-of-favor striker Dimitar Berbatov for £5 million (USD7.77 million), the Bulgarian said on Sunday.
