Formation of past participles

The past participle of regular verbs is formed by dropping the infinitive ending and adding –ado or –ido.

El museo mas visitado de España es El Prado.

Past Participles Used as Adjectives

When a past participle is used as an adjective, it must agree in gender and number with the noun it modifies

Los juguetes rotos estan en la basura.

The broken toys are in the garbage.

Las mujeres pintadas son modelas.

The painted ladies are models.

El pescado frito es delicioso.

The fried fish is delicious.

The Present Perfect Tense!

The present perfect tense is used to describe an action that took place in the past but is still connected with the present.

Elena ha visto la película nueva de Chuck Norris.

o Elena has seen the new Chuck Norris movie.

No han vivido allí.

o They haven’t lived there.

Yo no me he bañado todavía.

o I haven’t bathed yet.

Formation of the Present Perfect

The present perfect is formed by the present tense of the verb haber (to have) and a past participle.
