A+ ACADEMYSTAFF DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL

FOR

2013-2014

Page 2: Staff development training proposal

VISION STATEMENT

My vision is for A+ Academy to firmly cement ourselves as one of the leading school districts in the state of Texas. In order to achieve such a milestone we need to be at the forefront of best practices which includes seamless integration of technology in every classroom. Students need to be central in their own learning with teachers taking the backseat as facilitators who guide students to learn rather than the outdated ineffective “force-fed” education model.

CURRENT STATUS OF TECHNOLOGY PD 2012-2013 • Staff development for technology on campus is nearly

non-existent.

• Outsource training to Region X sporadically.

• Outsourcing creates additional undue costs and results in less than 5% of the teachers receiving the training.

• One campus based Web 2.0 training this year, on Edmodo with less than 10% of teachers invited to attend.
