Although, blessing food as the Mana fell from the heavens, we can obtain our food from the ocean and land. In the following paragraphs we are going to explain more details about why we consider Rundown as a blessing dish and a cultural heritage in three aspects. First of all, it is not a secret that food represents one of the most important inherited values of these islands culture because food has played an important role of joining its families together especially the Rundown which was passed d0wn from generation to generation. Second, we are convinced that the Rundown is the most typical dish of Providence and Santa Catalina islands due to the fact that the family members meet to prepare this dish around a bonfire of firewood and also with its incomparable taste. Another reason is that people from the islands enjoy preparing it because they usually dance, sing and share about their daily routines. On the other hand, the Rundown commemorates the crops, fruits and fish that they cultivate or fish from the islands. As a result, this dish is a treasure for the families because they make it together. Although, the Rundown was cooked only with fish, the natives were trying with other ingredients by adding conches, crabs and pigtails. As a conclusion, we could say that Rundown is a blessing dish because all of its ingredients are found around the islands; besides, people keep the recipes in their hearts from generation to generation as a treasure and it is also a cultural heritage which represents Providence and Santa Catalina when talking about food.
