Computer Application Excel Unit A (Real Life Projects)

1) Open up a blank Workbook in Excel. Make sure you are saving your work often with the filename

DREAMHOUSE in the H: drive Unit A folder of Excel.

2) Open up Internet Explorer along with Microsoft Excel

3) Enter the information and format your blank Spreadsheet to look like the following:

City/Address Asking Price Bedrooms Bathrooms Size (in sq. ft.) Picture `-

3) Go to the following Website www.realestatebook.com and search the following cities:

Fargo, ND

West Fargo, ND

Moorhead, ND

Bigfork, MT

Be creative with your search! Along the left side you can narrow down searches by price,

bedrooms, and bathrooms.

4) You are going to select three dream houses from the Fargo, West Fargo, and Moorhead area and

three dream houses from the Bigfork, MT area and enter the information into the table.

5) Each house must have a picture of it copy and pasted from the internet in the Picture column.

Resize your picture so it looks good in the chart.

6) Go to the View tab and use the Page Layout View to create a header with the following

components: a title in the center and your name on the right.

7) Create formulas that calculate the averages for the Asking Price, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, and Size

columns.

8) Click on the Page Layout tab and then the Orientation button. Change the orientation to

Landscape.

9) Print the worksheet and make sure all the information fits on one page. Save the workbook again

because we will be using it at a later date.
