Movie posterThe movie poster was made initially for promotion and to create awareness for the movie. It can also be used for advertising in certain places like billboards and outside cinema screenings.

At the bottom of the poster you see a famous review from Rolling Stone- “Devilishly Entertaining”. Rolling Stone is a well respected music magazine who have an older audience, this shows that the movie isn’t necessarily a cliché teenage chick flick.

They are still trying to advertise in the poster as It tells the fans to rent it out on DVD.

main image shows the characters in a wide shot. They’re suggesting the film is about a group of different teens, as seen through their varied costume and posture.

Colours are very bright (pink, white and green) suggesting a light hearted tone. The colour is also more feminine appealing to teenage girls

The tagline is quoted from one of Shakespeare famous plays Taming Of The Shrew as it is a modernized adaption of the play. This excites the audience as it would have elements of the Shakespearean play .

MagazineThe front cover of the magazine shows a professional photograph of the main characters from twilight. Their dark clothing contrasts with the bold white Masthead as it identifies the magazine.

The main cover line “No one is safe… New Moon” links with the main image highlighting the sequel of the first movie.

The font of the Masthead is bold and large in size, however its placed behind the characters to emphasis the nature of the magazine. The use of the dark colours blue and black are similar to the theme of the movie creating suspense and mystery.

The lights on their face may shown how each character has importance within the film.

The positioning of the characters also illustrates the hierarchy between them. The two male characters being back-to-back highlights possible conflicts between them. Also with the female character being behind suggests that she might be the main cause of the male characters conflict.

The female character is maintaining eye contact with the camera. This may highlight how she may be seen as the vulnerable one out of the group as she doesn’t hide her feelings.
