1. Work on your preparationLook for new and better sources of
information, better planning tools, and better methods
Make new discoveries from every situation and every person in contact with.
Emulate the examples of great leaders around you
2. Choose a cause and make it your own.
Volunteering is a great training ground for developing your leadership skills
Commit yourself to a cause, embrace it and develop your own vision
It doesn’t matter too much what the cause is as long as it improve to much peoples lives or adept at dealing with your cause’s issues and how people respond to them
3. Keep an open mindYour vision is your own, but you should be open to
the thoughts and dreams of others.Along with being open goes to the notion of
embracing change.Learn not to be stiff or rigid in your decisions.New information and circumstances come along
all the time, so if your open to the possibility of change then you won’t be taken by surprise
4.Rehearse your speeches
“If you can fake sincerity, you,ve got it made” (an old Hollywood saying)
Rehearsed your lines, practice delivery, know how to hit your marks, make the most out of it
5. Be Discipline
LEADERSHIP IS A SET OF DISCIPLINES, involves the following
the formulation of vision, The development of plans The executions of a mission Reaching a goal If you are weak, find the right person to
bolster your skills watch-observe-emulate
6. Master deadlines
Most projects are better when everyone is under deadline YOU have to be the person who sets and enforces deadlines Find out what it takes to get a particular bit of work done, and
then look for ways to cut that time down Find out how much time it takes for your entire team to get
ready for a mission,, and make them put more effort into each time interval
Don’t speed things up irrationally or create situations where one person on the team completes a portion of work and then is left when nothing to do but wait for the rest of the team to catch up
7. Maintain contact with your group
“KEEP DISTANCE”ADDRESS YOUR GROUPS CONCERN SWIFTLY
8. Remember to listen
As the leader, you’re supposed to be the authority figure of the group, but authority does not give the license to know it all
Develop your listening skillsDon’t just hear what people have to sayListening is getting to what it is that
people are trying to tell you
9. Cooperate with the world around youLeadership is built on teamwork
and teamwork is built on cooperation
Remember that today’s opponent may become tomorrow’s ally incapable and what you operate in fluid, ever changing world, ever changing world
10. Always put others before yourselfWhen selfish streak comes over you, learn to
resist it.Learn to appreciate the needs of othersWhen you can do a favor a little cost to
yourself, DO IT!, IF YOU MAKE A HABIT OF HELPING OTHERS….when you become a leader it will be easier and easier to put the needs of others above your own needs.
